2012 Volkswagen Golf R Description

Hello. I am selling my 5-door 2012 Volkswagen Golf R with All Wheel Drive, a 6-speed manual transmission and 54K miles. The color is Rising Sun blue metallic. So you know...I am 44 years old, as was the owner before me (roughly), and am a conservative driver who genuinely cares about his vehicles. This car has never been abused. I stored it (in my heated garage) last winter and it is in winter storage right now. It was 100% stock when I purchased it (at 49K miles) in mid-2015.
** Before I go any further, my Golf R has a "Prior Salvage" MN title. **
I purchased it with existing rear damage and had it professionally repaired by a licensed auto body repair shop. The prior owner had been rear-ended at a stoplight. I spoke with him at some length about what had happened. He had seriously considered buying the car back from the insurance company but, due to his limited financial resources, opted not to. The complete hatch, rear bumper cover and a couple of underlying rear body panels were replaced. The airbags did NOT deploy and the car was completely drivable after the accident! In fact, I drove it to the body shop myself to begin the repair process. Now that that's out of the way, here is a description of the car:
Shortly after the repair was completed, I replaced the tires with Continental ContiSportContact 225/40R18's ($600) as well as all 4 brake rotors and pads (Power Stop brand...can't recall the cost). The tires and brakes have approximately 3K miles on them now and are still in excellent/near new condition. I also changed the Haldex fluid, engine oil, coolant and cam follower (all preventative maintenance items).
I then drove the car to Further Performance in Mpls for a stage 2+ United Motorsport ECU tune ($700), at which time I installed an APR downpipe ($800), Remus catback exhaust ( $1200-sounds FANTASTIC), APR high pressure fuel pump ($700), boost gauge ($100), a Unitronic intake ($300) and a billet aluminum dog bone mount insert (made a HUGE difference for $40).
These improvements completely transformed the car. When stock, the MKVI Golf R was approximately 260hp. Now, it has approximately 390hp but it is just as comfortable and civilized (when driven "normally") as when it was when stock. Some additional items I've added: 18" Sparco Assetto Gara wheels ($800), rear wiper delete (for a cleaner look), WeatherTech Digital Fit floor mats and rear cargo mat ($250) as well as genuine/OEM Hella European LED taillights ($500) and a Diesel Geek shifter ($150) which improved shifting dramatically.
Here is a list of features: Bluetooth audio/cell connectivity, steering wheel mounted controls, navigation, heated seats, traction control (which, thanks to the tune, can be disabled entirely if you wish), ABS brakes with 4-piston front/2-piston rear calipers and oversized rotors, P/W, P/L, P/M, C/C, A/C, heated leather seats, keyless entry, one-touch door unlocking, push-button start, power moon roof, upgraded "Dynaudio" OEM stereo (honestly, one of the best stock systems I've ever heard).
How does my Golf R drive? In a word: PERFECTLY. It starts, runs and drives without any issues whatsoever. It has no check engine, ABS or airbag lights on. It does not leak, smoke, clunk, pull, shake, etc. All of the power options work properly and, as you can see from the pictures, it is in very nice condition overall. The clutch is original to the car and it does NOT slip. This, alone, should demonstrate to you that this car has not been abused. I DO have the original parts, minus the original fuel pump (had to surrender it as a "core"). This includes the 18" Talladega wheels (which have some defects), downpipe, catback exhaust and intake/engine cover. You are welcome to have all of them if you wish.
I would like to be clear that I do NOT want to sell this car! I absolutely love it. The reality, though, is that I own many cars and toys and don't drive it enough to justify keeping it. I will miss it very much but it makes more sense for someone else to enjoy it.
As for pricing...if this car had a "clean" title, and if it were bone stock, it would be worth approximately $22K realistically. With the improvements I've added, it would probably be worth about $2K more. My math is simple. I am deducting 25% from its base value due to its "Prior Salvage" title status. This leaves me/us with a price of $16500.00. The improvements I have made DO add some value, though certainly not as much as I paid for them and that is OK. They could be sold for approximately $3000 if, for some reason, you wanted to return the car to stock (not sure why you'd want to do that!). I am NOT adding their value to the price of my car, though. I am still pricing it at $16500.00. Please know that I will be rather reluctant to negotiate much on the price because $16500 is very fair as it is, especially with the roughly $4K of improvements included, as well as the stock parts.
I realize this was a long post but I wanted to provide as much information as I could. Buying a car like this should be a fun and exciting process, not a stressful one. Who ever purchases this car will enjoy an ear-to-ear grin...I guarantee it.
