1972 Replica/Kit Makes Bradley GT 2 GT II Description

This is a Bradley GT II on a 1972 VW chassis. It has a clear title and is titled in MI as a 1972 Volkswagen 2-door.

The GT II is Bradley’s finest sports car kit, complete with fiberglass gull wing doors instead of Plexiglas windows/doors. It was delivered by the factory complete and ready for final assembly on a VW standard chassis. It was mostly stored and not used for many years. I purchased it from the family in 2013. It included the original Bradley build book.

Immediately after its purchase, I added new wheels and tires (245-45-R17) and had it safety and road checked by my local VW specialist (Munk’s Motors in Waterford, MI). This resulted in major brake and fuel system work, including removal and recoat of the rusting fuel tank itself. The carburetor was rebuilt. The electrical system was thoroughly checked and some repairs made so that all systems worked as intended. Lastly, a general tune-up was performed, including setting proper valve clearances.

Since then, other electrical upgrades were performed, including solenoid activation to release the rear engine cover and rear hatch as well as adding LED Daytime Running Lights in front, and LED turn signals at rear for added safety and visibility.

All glass is intact. The 1600 engine runs strong, and the car will easily start up and cruise at highway speeds.

The odometer is not working, and has stopped at 09101. Total mileage is unknown. The speedometer does work and appears to be correct. The doors and rear hatch could use alignment tweaking.

The rubber bumper strips are missing from the front. I had intended to cover that exposed trim area with white reflective tape, but added Daytime Driving Lights instead. The exposed trim area is small does not bother me.

This is a fun car that draws attention!
